SUMMARY:Designing Workforce-Ready Pathways: A 4T Sprint for Digital Learning Leadership
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is part of the OLC Innovate 2026 Best-In-Track Webinar Series! \n\n\n\n\nAs higher education continues to respond to shifting workforce expectations\, AI integration\, and the growth of alternative credentials\, faculty and academic leaders are being asked to align curriculum with emerging skills\, often without clear guidance on how to do so while preserving disciplinary integrity. This webinar introduces a structured approach to workforce-aligned learning that begins with curriculum\, not tools. \nParticipants will be guided through the 4T Framework (Topics\, Tasks\, Tools\, Trends)\, a design model that supports intentional integration of industry-linked learning into academic courses. Through a facilitated design process\, attendees will examine how to redesign assignments\, select appropriate supports such as micro-credentials or AI tools\, and connect their work to broader institutional and workforce trends. The session emphasizes faculty-led innovation and offers a practical pathway for translating institutional pressure into coherent\, sustainable design.

SUMMARY:Accessibility in Brightspace
DESCRIPTION:Accessibility is about more than checking a box. Providing accessible materials gives every student the autonomy to choose a format that fits how they learn and where they’re learning it. This session moves beyond “add alt text” to show additional features of the Brightspace Accessibility Checker that let students convert your content into audio\, ePub\, translated text\, and tagged PDF\, with no extra work for you once any accessibility issues are addressed. We’ll look at the student-facing format conversion options\, discuss how to read and triage your accessibility score\, and you’ll leave with a short list of high-impact fixes.

SUMMARY:HEROES: Data Science for Everyone: Building the Foundations for Better Decisions
DESCRIPTION:Data are transforming nearly every aspect of higher education\, scientific discovery\, healthcare\, and workforce development. Yet many educators\, researchers\, and institutional leaders have had little formal preparation in applying data science to their teaching\, scholarship\, program evaluation\, or strategic decision-making. Data to Impact is a four-part professional development series designed to build practical data science capacity among faculty\, researchers\, administrators\, and education leaders. Rather than focusing solely on programming or advanced analytics\, the series demonstrates how data science can become a powerful tool for solving real-world problems\, strengthening research\, improving student outcomes\, informing institutional decisions\, and increasing competitiveness for grants and partnerships. Through interactive webinars\, participants will progress from foundational concepts to real-world applications in STEM\, education\, research administration\, and institutional leadership. By the end of the series\, participants will leave with practical tools\, new perspectives and an action plan for applying data science within their own disciplines and organizations.

SUMMARY:Immersive Heritage: Rebuilding Ancient Egypt in a Virtual Classroom
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is part of the OLC Innovate 2026 Best-In-Track Webinar Series! \n\n\n\n\nThis webinar explores how immersive\, student-built virtual environments can transform learning in online courses. Drawing on a case study from a large-enrollment asynchronous archaeology course\, participants will see how students used accessible 3D modeling tools to reconstruct ancient Egyptian tombs and then explored those spaces together in a shared virtual environment. Rather than passively consuming content\, students became active creators—designing\, interpreting\, and inhabiting the past—while developing technical skills\, deepening engagement\, and building a surprising sense of community in a fully online setting. \nBeyond the technology itself\, the session highlights how immersive design can support meaningful ethical reflection. Throughout the project\, students grappled with questions of cultural ownership\, colonialism\, and the display of human remains\, using their own digital reconstructions as a platform for critical inquiry. Participants will leave with a clear\, adaptable model for integrating immersive\, creative assignments into their own courses\, along with practical strategies\, sample structures\, and evidence-based insights into what works\, what challenges to anticipate\, and how to scale these approaches across disciplines.
