SUMMARY:Practicing High-Trust Leadership Within Colleges and Universities
DESCRIPTION:Trust is critical for college and university leaders in achieving organizational alignment. To pursue strategic goals and lasting innovations\, leaders must seek to build trust with multiple constituencies on and off campus\, including staff\, faculty\, students\, governing board members\, alumni\, community members\, and others. Trust is a complex challenge\, though; it’s hard to build and easy to break\, and trustworthy behavior does not automatically engender trust. \nWithin this session\, presenters will review recent research on trust-building among college and university presidents across the United States and share leadership practices that foster high-trust leadership—leadership that strengthens relationships\, builds confidence\, and enables institutions to work more effectively together.

SUMMARY:Creating Team Norms for Collaboration and Trust
DESCRIPTION:Team culture doesn’t happen by chance; it happens by design. The strongest teams are intentional about how they work together\, and team norms are one of the best ways to make those expectations clear. This webinar explores a practical process for creating team norms that build trust and improve collaboration. You’ll see real examples\, learn how to introduce norms that stick\, and leave with a framework you can adapt for your own team.

SUMMARY:Fostering Trust Within Shared Governance Structures
DESCRIPTION:Shared governance helps colleges and universities bring together diverse perspectives\, strengthen institutional decision-making\, and advance their missions. In this webinar\, participants will explore practical strategies for strengthening shared governance\, building confidence across campus constituencies\, and balancing innovation with accountability. \nWhen shared governance functions effectively\, it draws on the collective expertise of the campus community and creates confidence in institutional decision-making. When relationships break down\, however\, decision-making can become fragmented\, innovation can stall\, and confidence in institutional processes can erode. \nSuccessful shared governance requires more than clearly defined roles. It depends on campus constituencies recognizing the value of balancing the power to question with the power to innovate\, adopting equitable decision-making processes\, and working through questions about who should participate in institutional decisions and how. This webinar will examine strategies for strengthening collaboration among students\, staff\, faculty\, administrators\, and governing boards while supporting productive\, mission-focused governance.

SUMMARY:Level 2: Best Practices in Online Teaching and Learning Begins
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Faculty Center for Teaching\, Learning & Scholarship is offering the Level 2: Best Practices in Online Teaching and Learning course from October 19 – November 20. This course allows the participants to experience a fully online course as a student and work through the skills needed to successfully set up your own online courses.  While all of the work for this course can be done asynchronously\, there will be an opportunity each week for a synchronous session to connect with the instructors and the other participants. \n  \nThis is the Level 2 Training course towards the Online Teaching Certification. Successful completion of this training and the SUNY DLE Brightspace Fundamentals Asynchronous Modules are required to teach online at SUNY Oneonta. These courses were created to certify new and current online instructors in best practices to provide the highest quality eLearning experiences possible for students.
