The Faculty Center provides support for faculty looking to expand their leadership role on campus. This starts with supporting faculty through the Renewal, Promotion and Tenure process. We also provide support for faculty as them transition into becoming a department chair. Additionally, we have 2 faculty who work directly in a leadership position within the Faculty Center as Faculty Associates.

Renewal, Tenure, and Promotion Support

The Faculty Center staff hold training throughout the year in support of the RTP process. The staff also will work with faculty on formatting their dossier to meet the submission requirements.

New Department Chair Support

The Faculty Center runs a year-long program for all new department chairs to provide support in the many new skills that are required for department chairs. This includes providing a space for new chairs to ask questions and get guidance in navigating challenges specific to this role.

Faculty Associates

The Faculty Associates work closely with Faculty Center staff, the other Faculty Center Associate, and the Faculty Center Advisory Council to guide and plan programming, hone their skills in professional development and expand their leadership opportunities across campus. This is a two year commitment, with reduced departmental responsibilities to ensure enough time to focus on the work on the Faculty Center.
