The Faculty Center has recently introduced Talking Teaching, a new series of roundtable conversations. Every month during the semester, we’re inviting colleagues to share insights and resources around timely teaching and learning topics. These conversations are open to our community, and we hope you’ll consider joining us! Participants are also encouraged to bring their own questions and ideas to share.

Today, we hosted a discussion about AI and writing assignments. Dr. Amie Doughty, Dr. Thor Gibbins, and Dr. Emma Bedor Hiland lead our conversation, sharing their approaches to AI in courses that focus on or require writing. We talked about integrating AI literacy into writing assignments, protecting our objectives with AI-resistant strategies, and guiding students to engage critically with AI.
