This semester, leaders from SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Delhi, and SUNY Cobleskill met to combine forces around AI professional development within our regional network of SUNY institutions. With the support of Provost Enrique Morales-Diaz (SUNY Oneonta), Provost David Brower (SUNY Delhi), and Provost Darcy Medica (SUNY Cobleskill), SUNY Oneonta invited faculty and staff to campus to begin the conversation over lunch.

Faculty and professional staff came together to share insights, experiences, and questions related to AI and its emergent role in higher education. Breakout tables talked about ethical challenges related to AI, approaches to AI assignments, the differences between AI models and applications, AI in research, and more. We also identified areas for additional professional support.

In August, SUNY Oneonta will host a larger day-long event in response to the ideas generated at the pop-up. Stay tuned for more information! Our tri-campus planning committee is hoping to bring you panel presentations, workshops, a speaker, and more.
