The Faculty Center is beginning a new program to build a cohort of interested departments and faculty members who wish to explore embedding portfolio practices into degree programs. We would like to collaborate with faculty in offices and departments to determine how to best embed eportfolios into degree programs and where specifically we can add these milestones. The goal is to ensure that by end of a degree program, students have a robust eportfolio that includes reflections that connect learning to applicable skills, examples of their best work, and a narrative of how their college experiences have prepared them for life after college. Our goal is to identify departments that are willing to work on this project and share between the cohort members.
Here is what we are looking for from interested departments:
- Identify a team of faculty (2-3 professors) from your department who can plan and implement this initiative
for a departmental degree program. - Attend monthly meetings beginning in October 2026 to guide the departments’ work.
- Attend our day long exploration session in January 2027
- Submit a project plan by the end of the spring 2027 semester for how your department would incorporate
eportfolios throughout a degree program for implementation beginning in fall of 2027. - Willingness to share project details and sample assignments with future cohorts.
We are excited to explore ways that we can help students build eportfolios that will help them make connections between their course work and skills that will benefit them after leaving college.
If you are interested in having your department participate, please have a designee from your department fill out the Embedding ePortolios into Degree Programs interest form by September 25th, 2026.
