Faculty Center Staff Support IITG projects at SUNY Oneonta

In October, SUNY released information about the Academic Innovation Grants Program for academic year 2026-2027. This program funds projects across the SUNY system related to Open Educational Resources and Innovative Instructional Technology. This year, the program welcomes applications for projects in the categories of AI, openness, and accessibility.

At SUNY Oneonta, our faculty and staff have won these competitive grants in years past. To support our applicants this season, the Faculty Center has introduced some new resources. Audrey Porsche, Associate Director of Scholarly Activities, is available to help faculty and staff navigate the application process. In addition, Ed Beck, Open & Online Learning Specialist, continues to work with faculty on OER projects, and Racheal Fest, Specialist in Pedagogy, is available to consult on AI-themed IITG applications. Our team can help applicants secure required letters, conceptualize a project, and connect with collaborators.

The Faculty Center also held our first information session on the grant application process last month. Faculty and staff awarded funding last year shared their experience with the application process. Because that process emphasizes collaboration within and across institutions, we talked about how to find partners and scale up your project.

If you’d like support as you consider applying for funding, please reach out to our staff. And look out for future sessions for successful applicants. We’re here to help at every stage of the process.
